What happens after I leave The Farm?

Once you have completed the residential/ in-patient treatment program at The Farm in Stouffville and are continuing on to the next step in your recovery journey, you will not be alone. To help you stay sober after treatment, we have support available to help our alumni 24/7, whenever needed. Achieving sobriety is a huge accomplishment but doesn’t stop once you graduate from our program. The extensive Aftercare program consists of access to our 24/7 crisis line, multiple weekly group sessions, complementary individual counselling sessions upon graduation and frequent check-ins with our alumni specialist.

A key step on the path to sobriety is addiction treatment where you learn coping skills, relapse prevention, important tools to manage emotions and triggers and how you can avoid slipping back into addictive patterns/ behaviours. The next step of recovery is the true test, completing the treatment program and returning back to your everyday environment.

Continued Alumni Support

 Other alumni support include:

  • Lifetime access to The Farm’s 24/7 crisis and support line, which connects you to an addiction counsellor on-site any time you need;
  • Regular check-ins from our alumni specialist;
  • Virtual alumni support group meetings scheduled multiple times throughout the week;
  • Alumni events and medallion gatherings.

Family Care and Support Group

When a loved one is struggling with addiction, their friends and/ or family are often affected as well. The Farm understands how painful and confusing it can be for families when faced with addiction. We know from experience that families are able to find healing and we’re here to help. The Farm Rehab provides a weekly virtual support group for family members of past and present patients that need support with their own healing journey and to know that they are not alone. We encourage family members to attend these meetings regularly as different topics are covered each week.
